Cashew Tumeric Milk

Hello beautiful people! I have an amazing recipe for you that’d I’ve absolutely perfected! Cashew Turmeric Milk; It’s incredibly creamy and delicious. I’ve started drinking it almost every single morning; it’s a GREAT energy boost if you’re feeling any morning sluggishness. Almost every ingredient in the Cashew Turmeric Milk can be considered as a superfood. Incredibly beneficial to our bodies, I highly recommend you keep all of these ingredients in your kitchen always. Here are some quick facts about the ingredients you’ll be using.

-Benefits of Cashews: Cashews are one of the best sources of plant-based fat. They are also high in protein and packed with trace minerals essential to the body. Instead of loading up on something sugary that will make you crash later, consider fats first thing in the morning to help balance out the body.

-Benefits of Dates: Dates are nature’s candy forsure; it’s easy to find them online if they aren’t in a store near you. I always keep dates on deck to sweeten just about anything. Dates breakdown nicely in the body and are also packed with fiber, potassium, and are high in calcium and magnesium!

-Benefits of Cacao powder: Notice the spelling, we’re not throwing in a pack of hot chocolate. Cacao is a true superfood; this is where the energy is totally topped off! Cacao powder gives the milk a delicious chocolatey taste all while giving a nice stimulating effect. Cacao in a natural mood booster, and is highly nutritious. It has loads of antioxidants and has an affinity for helping the heart.

-Benefits of Tumeric + Activating Black Pepper: Tumeric is mostly known for it’s anti-inflammatory effects on the body. This is essential because most disease stems from chronic inflammation in the body. Black pepper aids in digestion, is anti-inflammatory, and high in fiber. Those two go hand in hand and rightly so; Did you know that the anti-inflammatory components in turmeric are highly more effective when combined with black pepper?

-Benefits of Cinnamon: Cinnamon is perfect during the winter time, just as black pepper because it is stimulating and creates a warming effect throughout the whole body. Did you know that Cinnamon actually comes from the bark of a tree? Amazing what nature provides!! Cinnamon is also loaded with antioxidants which helps protects the body against cancer. If you really want to stay warm and energized, add a dash of cayenne also to the milk.

The Recipe

Cashew Tumeric Milk

The Base: Cashew Milk

  • 1/2cups Raw Cashews
  • 2 Dates
  • 1tsp Cinnamon
  • 4cups Filtered Water
  • Pinch of salt (brings out flavor)

Soak the cashews for 6-8 hours, or best overnight in a bowl with some water to cover. Drain, and put into blender with remainder of ingredients and blend for 45-60 seconds. No need to strain, just pour into a mason jar to store or use some right away for the Tumeric Milk!

The Drank: Cashew Turmeric Milk

  • 1 1/2cups Cashew Milk
  • 1/2 TBS Cacao Powder
  • 1tsp Turmeric
  • 1tsp Black Pepper
  • 1tsp Cinnamon
  • 1tsp Local Organic Honey or Agave Syrup

Pour the Cashew milk in a small sauce pan and turn the heat on low, allow to warm for 1-2 minutes. Add in all ingredients except the honey/agave syrup. Whisk or stir occasionally for another 1-2 minutes. Add honey/agave, stir for 10 seconds then serve in a mug!!!

(If you don’t have cocoa powder or don’t want to be overly energized, it’s still amazing without it~ consider also adding a little cayenne pepper or ginger for a more warming effect)
